我的这篇收藏拍摄于香港太平山半山处，是极为少见的清代全景蛋白俯拍照（25.4*20.32 cm)。当时在半山通行的多为洋人,只有极少部分获得许可的华工。照片的角度真实的呈现出当时香港的华夷杂处，欧亚合璧。
This photo from my collection was taken in the Mid-Levels of Victoria Peak, Hong Kong. It is an extremely rare panoramic overhead albumen print during the Qing Dynasty (25.4*20.32 cm). At that time, most of the people in the Mid-Levels were foreigners, and only a few Chinese workers were permitted. The perspective of the photo truly shows that the Eurasian diversity of Hong Kong.

Victoria Harbor维多利亚港，位于九龙半岛与港岛之间，举世闻名。此港水深且航道宽阔，所以早年被英国人看中，有发展成东亚第一港口的潜力，亦将为其在远东的贸易做出不可或缺的贡献。
Victoria Harbor, located between the Kowloon Peninsula and Hong Kong Island, is a world-renowned port known for its deep water and wide navigation channels. During the early years, the British saw its potential to develop into the top port in East Asia, and it has since made an indispensable contribution to the trade with the Far East.

初期的维港西侧没有像现在地图标记的那么远，只包括港岛北角，九龙红磡及昂船洲水域。清末已有渔船，邮轮，商船及各类舢板往返于南北两岸，交织出繁华的景象。
In the early days, the west side of Victoria Harbour was not as broad as it is shown on today’s maps; only the waters of North Point on Hong Kong Island, Hung Hom in Kowloon, and Stonecutters Island were included. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, fishing boats, cruise ships, merchant ships, and all kinds of sampan traveled back and forth between the north and the south, creating a thriving scene.

Since the early twentieth century, Hong Kong’s shipbuilding industry has been very developed. The largest docks are located in Quarry Bay (owned by Swire Pacific) and Hunghom (owned by the Hong Kong and Whampoa Dock Company Limited).
